An earth stake should preferably carry no voltage. Drive a metal stake into the ground approximately 50-100 metres from the unit and place it against the wire, cord or tape to create a short circuit. During this test, there should be no voltage on the wire. At most 1 or 2 of the 6 LED lights on the unit should be lit.
