The Ranger® N420 is an electric fence energizer from the professional series by Horizont. It is an extremely powerful unit that can deliver sufficient voltage even in dry conditions.

The Ranger® N420 features 2 different output voltage connections; you can choose the maximum power for large pastures, or switch to a lower voltage (up to 1J) for smaller pastures or more sensitive animals. The voltage level can be read on the device via a 6-stage display.

6-stage LED
Easily check the voltage level using the 6-stage LED indicators on the device. With each pulse, the LED lights on the front illuminate; the more LED lights that illuminate, the higher the voltage. This allows you to easily monitor both the activity and the output voltage of the device.

Impulse Control
As an additional safety feature, this LED lights up clearly when the voltage level on the fence drops below the threshold value.

Earthing
A good earth connection is essential for an optimally functioning electric fence. An earth stake should preferably carry no voltage. For the Ranger N420, we recommend a minimum of 3 earth stakes of 150cm (art. no. 015017).

Want to easily measure the quality of the earthing? Drive a metal stake into the ground approximately 50–100 metres from the device and place it against the wire, rope or tape to create a short circuit. During this test, there should be no voltage on the wire. A maximum of 1 or 2 of the 6 LED lights should be lit on the device. If more lights are on, additional earth stakes need to be driven in.
