The Hotshock AN490 is an electric fence energizer from the professional series of Horizont. It is a very powerful electric fence energizer that works on both 12V and 230V; this ensures a combination of flexibility and reliability in the event of a power failure. Ideal for fencing up to 20km; specially developed for less sensitive animals such as sheep, wolves, poultry and for game management.

The Hotshock AN490 has 2 different connections for output voltages; this allows you to select the maximum power for at large plots, but it is also possible to switch to a lower voltage (up to 1J) for smaller plots or more sensitive animals.

ECO power

The device is equipped with a fully automatic economy circuit: the power consumption is adjusted to the condition of the fence. In short, if the fence is properly installed and insulated, the power consumption will be minimal.

6-step LED

Easily check the voltage level with the 6-stage LED lights on the device. at Each pulse output, the LED lights on the front light up; the more LED lights light up, the higher the voltage. This allows you to easily observe the activity and the output voltage of the device.

Battery test

The color this light illuminates indicates the battery capacity in 3 levels:

• Green: 40-100%
• Red/Green: 20-40%
• Red: 0-20%

The device has deep discharge protection for the 12V battery.

Impulse Control

As an additional safety feature, this LED will light up clearly RED when the voltage level on the fence falls below the limit value and GREEN when it is at the minimum desired level.

Grounding

Essential for an optimally functioning electric fence is a good grounding. An earth rod must have at preferably no voltage. For the Hotshock AN490 we recommend at least 3 earth rods of 150cm (art. 015017)

Easily measure the quality of the grounding? Drive a metal rod into the ground at a distance of about 50-100 meters from the device and place it against the wire, cord or tape to create a short circuit. During this measurement, there should be no voltage on the wire. A maximum of 1 or 2 of the 6 LED lights on the device may now be lit. If more lights are lit, additional ground rods must be driven in.
