The Hotshock AN490 is an energizer from Horizont's professional series. It is a very powerful electric fence device that functions on both 12V and 230V; This ensures a combination of flexibility and reliability in the event of a power outage. Ideal for fencing up to a maximum of 20km; specially developed for less sensitive animals such as sheep, wolves, poultry and for game management.

The Hotshock AN490 has 2 different connections for output voltages; This way you can choose the maximum power for it at large plots, but it is also possible to switch to lower voltage (up to 1J) for smaller plots or more sensitive animals.

ECO power

The device is equipped with a fully automatic economy circuit: the power consumption is adapted to the condition of the fence. In short, if the fence is properly installed and insulated, power consumption will be minimal.

6-stage LED

Easily check the voltage level with the 6-level LED lights on the device. at every impulse delivery, the LED lights on the front light up; the more LED lights light up, the higher the voltage. This allows you to easily monitor the activity and output voltage of the device.

Battery test

The color with which this light lights up indicates the battery capacity in 3 levels:

• Green: 40-100%
• Red/green: 20-40%
• Red: 0-20%

The device has deep discharge protection for the 12V battery.

Impulse Control

As additional security, this LED lights up clearly RED as soon as the voltage level on the fence falls below the limit value and GREEN when it is at the minimum desired level.

Grounding

Good earthing is essential for an optimally functioning electric fence. Must be on an earth rod at preferably no tension. For the Hotshock AN490 we recommend at least 3 earth stakes of 150cm (art. 015017)

Want to easily measure the quality of the grounding? About 50-100 meters away from the device, drive a metal pin into the ground and place it against the wire, cord or ribbon to create a short circuit. There should be no more tension on the wire during this measurement. A maximum of 1 or 2 of the 6 LED lights may now light on the device. If more lights are on, additional ground stakes must be installed.
